Hello, I’m a creative non-fiction writer.
This website has links to recent articles and ways to be in touch.
Thank you for stopping by.
I write long-form stories and dabble in 3-5 minute web and radio documentaries. I like ordinary people with extraordinary lives.
I won the Human Rights Reporting award for a book on the detention of 33 young Iranian women; reported from the glamorous city of Milan on unglamorous political scandals; spent a summer at a neo-fascist summer camp; and unearthed long-lost Mediterranean traditions.
My work has appeared in The New York Times, BBC World Service, The Independent, The New Statesman, Public Radio International, Vice, the Smithsonian Magazine and other - equally prestigious - news outlets.
I live in London, and yes, I have plans for more books.
